Ritual Details

The Divine Connection

In Hindu philosophy, every householder (grihastha) embodies divine qualities. The groom represents Lord Vishnu, the preserver and protector, while the bride represents Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, prosperity, and fortune. This ceremony honors this sacred parallel.

The Ritual Worship

The groom is seated on a special asana (seat) and the bride's family performs elaborate pooja to him. They wash his feet with sacred water, apply tilak on his forehead, offer flowers and garlands, and perform aarti. The groom is given new clothes and treated with the utmost reverence during this ceremony.

Spiritual Significance

This ritual connects the couple to their cultural heritage and invites divine blessings into their union, representing important values that form the foundation of a blessed marriage.
